2017 PLAYOFFS

WOW. What a season. 723 runs, 250 baseballs, 52 ballgames, and countless f-bombs later, the regular season is over! Now, four teams remain and they’re ready to contend for that sweet, sweet title of…CHAMPION.

KNOCKOUT ROUND
Sunday, August 20th
Ryan Howard Field

10:45am
Woolly Mammoths (4)
vs. Turkey Vultures (1)

After six seasons of failing to crack .500, the Woolly Mammoths have finally done it and are in the playoffs for the first time. They have a tall order ahead of them though as they draw the red-hot Turkey Vultures who beat the Mammoths twice during the regular season. The Vultures have come close to the ‘chip in years past with nothing to show for it. But, with their best season by far (their lone loss was on Opening Day) they look to finally close the deal.

3:00pm
King Cobras (3)
vs. Leatherback Turtles (2)

New kids on the block, the King Cobras were impressive in their debut P.A.B. season and closed out the year on a three-game win-streak. Now they face the two-time champion Leatherback Turtles. These teams split during the regular season but the Turtles have been their before. We’ll let this playoff edition of the rubber match tell the rest of the story!

The winners of these sudden death games will play in the best-of-three championship series on 8/27, 9/10, and 9/17.

The 2016 Playoffs Are Upon Us

Knockout Round
Sunday, August 14, 2016
Howard Field

After a hard fought season the top four teams are standing strong and ready for the playoffs. It all starts with this week’s Sudden. Death. Knockout. Round.

12:30pm
(4) Leatherback Turtles
vs. (1) Brahma Bulls

Though they sit in the fourth and final seed, the defending champ Leatherback Turtles are no stranger to the postseason, after all they’ve won the whole thing in back-to-back seasons. The Turtles now look to make it three championships in a row, an impressive accomplishment in any sport.

The first place Brahma Bulls had strong showing all season long, giving up a record low 39 runs on the year. After getting just a taste of the postseason with their first round knockout in 2015, these Blazing Brahma Bulls look to build on their impressive 2016 campaign and hoist that beautiful bronze trophy when all is said and done.

4:00pm
(3) Bearded Dragons
vs. (2) Turkey Vultures

The third place Bearded Dragons have made the postseason in every one of their six seasons. Despite an up-and-down year, these wily old veterans know how to win the big game and are looking to go out in a blaze of championship glory.

Having lost in back-to-back championships, the second place Turkey Vultures seek vengeance, and it shows. They mashed their way to a league leading 145 runs scored, way ahead the 89 run-scored league average, and are hoping their big bats can get them those final three W’s needed to be crowned P.A.B. Champions.
